Well, I've just noticed upon this whole business with the car crash that everything always seems to work out for the better. Certainly in this most recent case it has, albeit the few weeks of inconvenience. The silly people at the insurance company have decided that since my car had not yet done 50,000 km when I wrote it off, they will replace it with a brand new car for no more than what we had to pay on the older one, plus the excess on the insurance policy which is nothing when you compare the amazing value of this offer. I had a 2006 Corolla Ascent Sports model which had just done 40,000km (there's a cruel irony in this part of the story; I had my 40,000km service which I paid $400 for two days prior to writing the Corolla off), and the insurance company have proposed to give me a brand new 2008 Corolla with attributes equal to what my old Corolla had. Who else thinks this policy is the most amazingly awesome one to ever exist? I certainly do.
All I'm waiting for now is for them to send the bloody thing. Sharing a car with my mum is the most annoying, inconvenient thing.
